Swiss-born precision agriculture company Ecorobotix announced today that its flagship technology, the ARA Ultra-High Precision Sprayer, will now be assembled for the U.S. market in Lyons, Kansas. The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion and strengthens its presence in North America.
Founded in Switzerland, Ecorobotix has grown from an agricultural robotics start-up into a global company dedicated to transforming crop protection through agronomic intelligence, ultra-precise plant-level technology. The new assembly operation reflects the increasing demand for precision agriculture solutions that help farmers reduce input use while maintaining productivity.
The sprayers will be assembled in partnership with KMW, a Kansas-based manufacturer with decades of experience supporting agricultural equipment companies through precision manufacturing and equipment assembly. The collaboration reinforces Ecorobotix’s North American supply chain while enabling the company to adapt its technology more efficiently to U.S. specialty crop systems. The expansion will create more than 80 new jobs in the United States, adding to the company’s existing US team of 40 and strengthening Ecorobotix’s global workforce of more than 300 employees.
“Over the next three years, Ecorobotix will invest $50 million to expand U.S. operations and deliver our Swiss-engineered ultra-high precision agriculture technology to American farmers. Assembling ARA in Kansas allows us to work closely with local partners while strengthening our ability to serve growers across North America.”
Dominique Mégret, CEO of Ecorobotix
ARA uses agronomic intelligence and advanced computer vision to identify crops and weeds in real time and apply crop protection products only where needed. The system scans fields and activates targeted spraying within a fraction of a second, enabling growers to significantly reduce plant protection product use while maintaining crop performance.
To further support regional agriculture, Ecorobotix is also developing partnerships with universities across the United States to study local agronomic conditions and accelerate the development of new crop algorithms tailored to American farming systems. These collaborations help refine the company’s Plant-by-Plant AI™ technology, designed to support growers facing increasing economic and environmental pressures.
The Kansas assembly operation represents an important step in Ecorobotix’s broader international growth strategy. By combining Swiss engineering with local manufacturing and agronomic expertise, the company aims to make precision agriculture technologies more accessible to growers worldwide.
